In 2026, the next chapter is scheduled for release. The first teaser trailer for Toy Story 5 landed this week, offering a brief look into the plot but leaving viewers curious how it will address the ending of Toy Story 4.

The Latest Addition: A Frog-Shaped Tablet Frightens the Gang

In the teaser reveals the young girl — who received the toy collection when he left for college — getting a latest toy, one that alarms Woody, Buzz, and the crew. Bonnie acquires her initial digital gadget, and she is excited about it.

Theoretically, the frog-shaped tablet will animate just like Bonnie's other toys. Still, the characters seem to view it as a danger coming to replace them, which it likely will.

Woody's Return: Mysteries from Toy Story 4

One thing the teaser avoids is what the sheriff is back with his friends in the child's bedroom. The finale of Toy Story 4 saw him set off on a fresh journey with the shepherdess (the actress), traveling with a fair and assisting giveaway items locate loving owners.

Certainly, the filmmakers will explain the consequences of Toy Story 4 in the film. Seeing him show up in Bonnie's room unexpectedly is somewhat puzzling, though. It also raises questions whether Bo Peep will have returned with him. And what about the stuntman toy (Keanu Reeves)?

Connections from the Last Installment
